Active Non-Line of Duty Funeral
This is normally an unexpected accident and we would like to help the family and fellow
firefighters through this by honoring their lost loved one.
· Advising the Fire Department and Local of proper funeral protocol.
· Posting of the colors at the casket (USA and State flags).
· Posting of silent guard at the casket during visitation.
· Reading of poem(s).
· Performing the bell ceremony.
· Playing of bag pipes.
· Playing of Taps.
· Presentation of helmet/personal equipment.
· Rendering of honor salute.
· Leading a marching procession.
· Folding and presentation of the USA flag.
· Any other duties the family or the FD/Local requests
