Tim Selander Update 09/30/16 - IAFF Local 21
Just wanted to send out an update about Mike Selander's son Tim. Due to the increase in size of one of the brain tumors, Tim has lost most of the use of his left side. This loss of mobility and the layout of their home have created the need for an in home stair lift and a wheelchair accessible van.
Kitchen Fire on Main St 09/30/16 - IAFF Local 892
This afternoon, headquarters units and Engine 2 were dispatched to 321 Main St., the Alice building, for a reported structure fire. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire, with smoke coming from the second floor rear of the building.
After forcing entry to the fire apartment, firefighters had zero visibility.

The annual Terry Farrell Firefighter Charity ball is this Saturday October 8th. We all know how much the Terry Fund has done for all firefighters in the area when something tragic happens to our fire family. This night helps fund all those great things that they are able to do for us when in need.

The IAFF placed the names of three members of the KCFD and IAFF Local 42 who died in the Line of Duty: FAO Larry Leggio, Firefighter John Mesh and Firefighter Danny Rapp in 2015.

BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR 09/29/16 - Palm Beach County Fire Fighters Employee Benefits Fund
Earlier this year with the uncertainty of whether Rick Rhodes would stay on in the position of Benefits Administrator for the Fund pending his retirement from the fire department the Fund completed an exhaustive nationwide search for a possible replacement. The position was also opened up to all participants of the Fund.
MDA CHECK PRESENTATION 09/28/16 - Holyoke Firefighters IAFF Local 1693
Local 1693 members recently presented a check for $13,5700 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Massachusetts. Money was raised through the local "Fill the Boot" drive and on-line donations.

The members of the West County EMS & Fire Protection District, Board of Directors, and Members of International Association of Firefighters Local 2665 continue to mourn the loss of our dear brother, Firefighter/Paramedic Sean McMullin. Firefighter/Paramedic McMullin served the residents of our District for 14 years, prior to his death September 24th, 2016.

2 Livonia Churchill freshmen in stolen Mustang killed in crash 09/25/16 - IAFF Local 1164
Two Livonia Churchill High School freshmen boys were killed Saturday in Plymouth Township after the stolen Ford Mustang they were in hit a minivan, rolled over and burst into flames, police said.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the teens' ages as 14 and 15 but didn't release their names Sunday afternoon.
